How Many Miles on Your C5?

I am the original owner of a 1998 C5 Coupe that I purchased at a dealership  here in Long Island in January 1998. The car had 3.2 miles on the odometer as I drove it out of the showroom.  Today that same Corvette has 182,300 miles on it and it still is a pleasure to drive. Over the years I have driven it up to Maine (a couple of times), down to Alabama, out to Kentucky (Bowling Green...a few times) and Ohio, and all places in between. Last year I attended the August Nascar race at Pocono and when I pulled into the parking area the car was surrounded by race fans before I could even get out from behind the wheel. Over the years I have shown this C5 at countless car shows and have won approximately 70 trophies/plaques (you lose count after a while). I do all my own maintenance and have quite a supply of spares on hand should a component need replacing.

We bought our Torch Red coupe new on February 14th 2004 with 14 miles on it. As of March 9th 2008, 4 years, we have 100,032 miles on it. We love driving this thing we have even camp out of it. We went to the Blackhills and Mt Rushmore and would get a camp ground as needed. We had a tent, sleeping bags and a colman stove with a couple pots and pans. People in the camp grounds couldn't believe when we would make eggs for breakfast. Love these cars!

I am the third owner of a '98 coupe which turned over the  12,000 mile mark on the way home with it. I was told it had been in the rain only one time. I purchased it from an older gentleman. I have wanted one since high school. I am so happy and proud of it. It has no scratches and one little bitty chip on the hood and one faded spot on one seat. Otherwise looks like new. The man I purchased it from called me yesterday and said if I ever wanted to sell it, he would like a chance to buy it back for his grandson.

Once I told my wife she could get her Corvette, she immediately ( same day ) found a 1998 Light Carmine Red Convertible. The first owner only put 17,500 miles it. Needless to say, my wife is now owner number 2

Got my '99 grand new in Nov. of '99 w/50 miles on the OD. I got 385,000+ to date. Every day driver ! '94 Vette got brand new in Aug. '94, sold in '96 with 180,000+ plus, & '96 new, sold in '99 to get the current Vette had 245,000+ when sold. Very rare to have any problems with the mechanical, 98% sensors if something happens. Knocking on wood!
